The Message
By Ann Sale

Why is no lightening ripping the heavens, no thunder shaking the ground? This infamous day drenches us all in unspeakable tragedy and yet the sun shines. Can the atmosphere not know we are terrified, suffering, blindingly confused? But this is a man made terror, a coward’s mistake. Beauty is unaffected, births are still miracles, and love polished to a high luster by our fear. There is a message in the sun warming our faces, the wind gentle on our backs. Nature is reminding us with her beauty that we will go on; that we are strong beyond our comprehension, that we are united, resilient, willing to sacrifice for the common good, destined to walk forever fearlessly in the sun.
