A lighting and decorating workshop for potential entrants in Irvington’s annual Carters Creek Holiday Boat Parade was held last Saturday at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club. This is only the beginning of decorating for the holiday events in Irvington, which begin with a town-wide Open House on the evening of December 13 and continue with the boat parade at 6 p.m. on December 14.

     Community residents, especially those living along the Carters Creek parade route, are encouraged to contribute to the festivities by participating in the Dock and Shoreline Decorating Competition. Not only is this a great way to get into the holiday spirit, but it has the added benefit of offering boats some additional navigation points to follow. Organizers are asking every resident on Carters Creek to decorate and illuminate their dock or pier with Christmas lights. 

     On the evening of the Boat Parade, Captains and crews will choose the best-decorated home and best-decorated dock.
