Discovery Workshops for Children 

     George Washington’s Fredericksburg Foundation announces summer programs for children at George Washington’s Ferry Farm. Hands-on Discovery Workshops make learning about colonial life fun. 

     Workshops are held July 1 through August 15, 9:30-11:00 a.m., Monday through Friday at Ferry Farm. Cost is $8.00/per child. Group reservations are available at $5.00/per child with a $50.00 minimum.

I Dig George 
Littlest Archaeologists  (ages 3-5) Mondays 
The Dirt Detectives      (ages 6-8) Tuesdays 
Junior Archaeologists  (ages 9-12) Fridays 

Introduces children to the techniques of archaeology, while digging, washing, and piecing together artifacts.

Turkeys, Bluebirds and Butterflies (ages 6-12) Wednesdays 
Children will experience the natural world of young George Washington, exploring the habitats of wildlife at Ferry Farm and hiking the nature trail.   

Colonial Life Through the Eyes of a Child (ages 6-12) Thursdays 
Introduces children to 18th-century life from a child’s perspective.
