By Janet Abbott Fast As we have noted in this missive in the past, we receive a daily report and a weekly summary about activity on our website, www.chesapeakestyle.com. It is interesting to note what parts of our website are visited. I read the little document daily, and silently cheer as the numbers climb. Hands down, the recipe section is the winner for number of visits! Because we know you, our readers like recipes, we include them in each issue, and then post them online. This issue is a departure from the usual holiday fare. We asked our friends and writers to submit recipes for their favorite comfort foods. With winter approaching, we know many folks find strength and solace in food. We’ll leave it to the psychologists to tells us why. Holidays come wrapped with bright ribbons of expectation, in reds, greens and often the blues. Before, during and after the busyness of the crush of cheer, the blue moods of depression often set in. So we thought it would be a good idea to provide you with comfort food. The first recipes appear in this issue. We will offer more next year. And we invite you to share your favorite recipes, comfort food and other favorites with us. We have noted recently that the shopping section of our website is becoming a more popular area to visit. It is divided into three sections, the Northern Neck, Mathews and the Middle Peninsula, for your convenience. If you want to know more about a particular advertiser, visit the Focus on Business sections, where there are reprints from earlier issues. Folks seem to enjoy the articles in the Celebrating the Past, Present and Future; and the outdoor articles about hunting, fishing and the wildlife articles are favorites. It surprises me that each week folks go back to previous issues to read and/or print out articles having to do with good health. Clearly this is a service people want. There is the literary section for those who want to read poetry or fiction, for sheer joy. Visits to that section is consistent and increasing. We also have an online calendar which includes items printed on our current back page, as well as those which don’t fit or which come in late. If you will supply us with your information, as well as a location, phone number and email address, we will include your events online. Unlike many Website, for magazines, we have visited, ours is not designed to sell you subscriptions. However, we do offer subscriptions for the cost of postage and handling. See the gray box above for details, and send a subscription to a friend or relative as a holiday or birthday gift. We also offer, online, at no cost to you, free classified advertising. However, please note, you will need to come back every 30 days and renew your ad. If you haven’t paid us a visit recently, and you want to be cheered up, go to our website. While you’re there, write in our guest book, and tell us what you like, and what you want to see in Chesapeake Style in the future. When
you cruise the net, stop by www.chesapeakestyle.com
and bookmark it for future visits. If you have a site and would like to
link up with us, please let us know. We’re glad to share links!
