WHEN IS DAD COMING HOME?

When is Dad coming home?
A daughter said to her mother
And how much longer does he have to stay?
Said James; her older brother
Their Mom replied “I just don’t know”
And then a tear came to her eye
Inside she was thinking to herself
If their Dad would live or die
Why is there war and are those people bad?
Why do people have to fight?
Their Mom couldn’t give an answer
Because she knew this war wasn’t right
She told them that our leaders had lied
And that there was no good reason for the war
She said that she prayed for all the people
Who are fighting on foreign soil
She told them that all the people of earth
Loved their children as much as she
And every parent’s love is just the same
No matter where they may be
I don’t know when Daddy will be coming home
But, just know down in your heart
Your Father loves you very much
And feels so sad that you’re apart
He loves this country very much
And all of America is so very proud
Even though, that we now know
This war should never been allowed
We love all the men that are fighting there
And we look forward to the day
When Dad’s everywhere can be a family again
Now let’s close our eyes and pray
Dear God we ask for just one thing
We pray that all wars shall end
We ask for a world where we can live in peace
Thank you Dear God Amen
