The Jiffy Gym
By Martha Packett
Let us all go rock fishing on this beautiful day
While the whole world is working we’ll stop to play.
The air is crisp for the season is fall
The smoke goes straight up from the chimneys tall.
The water is cold but so very clear,
Our depth finder says the fish are quite near.
We see some gulls diving and wheeling about
They are over some rockfish or possibly trout.
We rig our lines to drag near the bottom
With fancy lures of every kind we’ve got’em.
A reel starts to squeal, yes it’s a hit!
We try to reel in but it won’t budge a bit.
This has to be a huge fish to fight us so
Just how big it is we are anxious to know.
Though it takes quite a while to bring to the boat
We quickly see on this one we can gloat.
His sides are like silver with straight black lines
A prettier fish you’d have trouble to find.
The fish is so big and out net is so small
To get him aboard takes our strength and our all.
Finally at last he is flopping on deck
And turning the cockpit into quite a wreck.
If you never have ever played out this play
Then go rock fishing tomorrow or even today.
You will remember always the thrill of that day
When you caught the big one that didn’t get away. When asked one morning,
Where I had been.
My exciting response was,
“The Jiffy Gym.”

“What’s that?” They asked.
So I explained.
“It’s the gym for women,
Where lives are changed.”

The Get Fit Express
With the initials GFE,
The express means quickly,
So I call it “Jiffy”.

You can feel more alive,
And make new friends.
Keep up with the news,
While the circle never ends.

“Pray for Aunt Susie,
She’s not feeling well.”
“My grandfather is recovering,
He slipped and fell.”

No mirrors, no men!
How fantastic is that.
Males won’t be gawking
Or laughing at fat.

“Change Stations” you’ll hear,
Now go the other way.
“Locks of love”
Were cut here today.

Check out the back,
Or try the Tiny H. machine.
You’ll get a warm feeling,
Among palm trees of green.

The time flies by,
The music is great.
It’s a fitness routine
You could never hate.

So come on down,
You’ll love it too.
Join the “Jiffy Gym”
And feel brand new!
