Reader Response ~ October 2001
Kudos to an Advertiser
Dear Jan,
Following your advice to patronize our advertisers, I contacted Steve's
Car Detailing in Warsaw. Within days our car looked like it was brand new!
Everything was spotless, and our car sold the very next day! I know Steve
takes great pride in shining antique cars for his customers. His prices
are reasonable, and I was thrilled to see the excellent job he did for
us. Please feel free to use me as a reference.
Thanks,
Nancy Vickers, Coles Point

To the Editor:
Well, our beehive entitled She Bites: The Yellow Fever Mosquito WON!!!!
Second, was Beedazzled and Somewhere under the Rainbow was third. Unfortunately
neither of them were pictured in your article. I did like that article
and thought the reproduction of the Purple daffodil beehive was beautiful.

Kudos to Catherine Brooks
I found your magazine
in Tappahannock, at Lowery's, while waiting for my daughter to pick up
her daughter, and I must say it has been a "nostalgia trip" with real pleasure
and excitement! I lived in Mathews (God's Country) for 25 years, and am
so glad your periodical is giving it, and the whole Chesapeake area, the
boost it deserves! I especially enjoyed the reviews of local enterprises,
by some known to me, Catherine Brooks in particular. I have known her,
and her husband since the 1960's, and am so happy to know she has found
such a meaningful, and worthwhile (for us all) avocation! Keep up the Good
work!!
Sincerely Mary E.

River Viewpoint is a
Favorite
You have done a
great job with the magazine and several of us here in Oregon enjoy the
articles. We are especially fond of River Viewpoint by Florence Muse. Thank
you for your efforts and we will continue to spread the news to others
we know so they can enjoy them as well. God bless...

Dear Blanche,
I'm delighted with your review. {Sept. 2001, Chesapeake Style} To tell
you the truth, I'm actually quite impressed that in such a short time you
not only read the book from half-way through to end, but also understood
so much of it and expressed your assessment so well. You are really good
at this, aren't you? Thanks for taking the time to read the book and write
the review. I can hardly wait to see the piece in Chesapeake Style and
on amazon.com.
I am presently "on the road" promoting The Golden Ones. The last couple
of days I've been in my hometown of Welland in Ontario, Canada. On Friday
I had a great book signing at the local bookstore. It went so well mainly
because my family are very warm and outgoing. The bookstore manager said
it was like having a party in the store. Many people in the mall stopped
by just to see what was going on. The local newspaper also did a great
interview article.
Tonight I'm giving a free slide show of my travels in the Yucatan and Egypt
in the nursing home where my Dad lives.
In a couple of days I'm speaking in a little town where a number of people
got a hold of the book, passed it around, got enthusiastic and asked me
to talk to a group in the church. Then I go to Minneapolis, where my husband's
friend lives to do a couple of book signings there. I'm beginning to enjoy
these events although they are definitely hard work.
Thanks again for the wonderful review. It is actually much more than I
expected. When I get home, I'll give you a call.
All the best,
Carole [Chapman]
