A Relaxing Get-Away
By Chelly & Steve Scala

In the hustle and bustle of today’s stress filled world, it’s important to take a break and relax. One of the best ways to do this is to go fishing. To really get away from it all, Harrison’s Chesapeake House and Sportfishing Center on the Eastern Shore’s Tilghman Island is a great place to visit. We’ve been enjoying Harrison’s for the many years including celebrating our ten year anniversary by chartering a boat out of Harrison’s. In addition to other visits, we’ve also been going to Tilghman Island for the Harrison’s annual Pro-Am Tournament.

Harrison’s Chesapeake House can’t be beat for it’s hospitality. They have been known for their great accommodations, fine sport fishing, and fabulous country cooking for over 110 years. The relaxed atmosphere and bay scented breezes are enough to forget all your worries.

One of the largest sport fishing fleet on the bay with local Captains familiar with every inch of the bay within 50 miles of Tilghman Island, is available at Harrison’s. One of their specialities is the “Buddy Plan”, which is a complete package of fishing and fun. This package is includes overnight lodging, a hearty fisherman’s breakfast, eight hours of fishing, all bait and tackle, a healthy box lunch, and beverages on the bay. While your fish are being cleaned and iced down, you can enjoy a dip in the pool. Another popular option is walking about historic and beautiful Tilghman Island.

Harrison’s is open twelve months a year In the cold weather, duck and goose hunters “flock” to Harrison’s with anglers and sailors following their own seasons. Harrison’s is considering another package deal to offer fishing and hunting in the same visit.

For more information and directions to Harrison’s Chesapeake House, check out their website at http://www.chesapeakehouse.com By phone, call Harrison’s Chesapeake House and Sportfishing Center at (410) 886-2121.
